Script description
Section titled “Script description”Pitman Shorthand is a system of writing based on pronunciation of English words and is not based on the spelling of words. It was originally developed by the Englishman Sir Isaac Pitman, and it was published in 1837.
This script is not currently recognized by the ISO 15924 standard
, but is included in Writing Systems Technical Resources for research purposes. If you have any information on this script, please add the information to this site.
