It was designed in 1933 by Sheikh Abdurahman Sheikh Nuur from the Gadabuursi clan in the Borama region of Northern Somalia. The script was used by only a small group of associates of the Sheikh in Borama.
The alphabet includes 20 consonants and 7 vowels.
This script is not currently recognized by the ISO 15924 standard
, but is included in Writing Systems Technical Resources for research purposes. If you have any information on this script, please add the information to this site.
