Combining Basic Blissymbols to Represent Complex Concepts

Charles K. Bliss, Semantography A Logical Writing for an Illogical World, 313-314, Blissymbolics Publications, Sydney, 1965
A diagram taken from page 313 of Charles Bliss’ book “Semantography A Logical Writing for an Illogical World”, showing that the symbol formulae employed in writing Blissymbols work in a similar way to chemical formulae, in that basic elements are combined to build up a complex compound. Page 314 offers the explanation that the word apology is made up of the concepts, “you say that your heart feels down, that you feel unhappy, because your mind thinks no! to what you have done”.
