Unicode Status for Telugu
In The Unicode Standard, Telugu script implementation is discussed in Chapter 12 South and Central Asia-I — Official Scripts of India
.
The Telugu script was first encoded in The Unicode Standard version 1.0. Since that time the encoding has undergone a small number of modifications; the script is encoded in the following block:

Vedic Extensions may be used with the Telugu script as well as many other Indic scripts.
